THE US FIRST LADY "JILL BIDEN" TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID19

 The US First Lady "Jill Biden" was tested positive for Covid-19 and developed the symptomst, the white House said on Tuesday, two weeks after her husband Joe Biden contracted the virus for a second time.

 The wife of the president was tested negative on Monday but developed “cold-like symptoms late in the evening,” her communications director "Elizabeth Alexander" said in a statement.Alexander said a subsequent rapid antigen test was negative, but a more detailed PCR test was was confirmed positive.

The first lady has been prescribed a course of the oral antiviral pill Paxlovid and will  fobe isolated for atleast five days.She “is double-vaccinated, twice boosted, and only experiencing mild symptoms,” Alexander added.

Jill Biden was tested positive while on holiday in South Carolina, where she stays  at a private residence, and will return to the White House after two consecutive negative tests, her aide said.

President Biden, who turns 80 in November, has recently recovered from two separate bouts of the coronavirus.He was first tested positive on July 21 and continued to carry out his duties while isolating at the White House.After four days of negative tests, he again received a positive result on July 30 and entered isolation a second time.

480 SUSPECTED CRIMINALS APPREHENDED AT FCT

  The FCT Administration on Friday August 12,2022. Arrested 480 suspected criminals from uncompleted buildings and undeveloped plots of land in Wuse II and Maitama. The Commander in charge of the task force, Mr Bennett Igweh, said the suspects, had turned green areas, undeveloped plots of land, bushes uncompleted and unoccupied houses into their Haven for crimes. Mr Bennett Igweh  noted that the team would stop at nothing at ridding the city of criminal elements threatening the peace of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He added that the task force recovered police uniforms, mobile phones, a loaded pistol, machetes and charms from the suspects.  We arrested about 480 suspected criminals. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO MEET ASSU OVER THE ONGOING STRIKE

   The National president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, said the  union will meet with the federal government today to speak on the issue of the ongoing strike by university teachers.  The national president of ASSU made this known while speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television’s political show. He said the union was willing to call off the strike if the Federal Government agreed to its demands at today’s meeting.“If we go into that meeting tomorrow and the government says, what you have bargained for, we are willing to sign, the strike will be called off,” he said.
